Since the definition of "best" can vary significantly depending on individual tastes and budgets, we have compiled a list of our favorite restaurants situated in the charming Old Town of Kotor and along the stunning Bay of Kotor in Montenegro.

Restaurant Mondo

Restaurant Mondo is situated just a kilometer from the picturesque Old Town of Kotor, right along the beautiful waterfront. Since its recent opening a few months ago, the restaurant has quickly gained popularity, as reflected in our review and the positive feedback it has received. If you’re a fan of fresh seafood, affordable prices, and stunning views, Mondo should definitely be at the top of your list.

Pepe Nero

In tourist hotspots, it’s often advised to avoid dining at restaurants located in the main square. While we generally agree with this sentiment, Kotor’s Old Town has a few exceptions, and Pepe Nero is definitely one of them. The food here is fantastic, featuring a wonderful selection of local cheeses, meats, and fresh seafood. If you’re in the mood for brunch, don’t miss the Avocado Benedict—it’s a must-try!

Senso Coffee Shop

Life without coffee? Hard to imagine! Whenever I find myself in the charming Old Town of Kotor, I make it a point to stop by Senso, my go-to spot. Their cappuccinos are simply delightful, and the croissants are always fresh and perfectly crusty. The café is quite small, with limited seating, so I usually grab my order to go and savor it while wandering through the picturesque streets. If you’re visiting in the summer, it’s best to arrive early to dodge the crowds, both at the café and around the Old Town.

BBQ Tanjga

If you’re a BBQ enthusiast looking for a local favorite, just follow the smoke to BBQ Tanjga, conveniently located just outside the Old Town near the roundabout leading to Muo and Prcanj. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the prices are unbeatable, making it a fantastic spot for an authentic BBQ experience.

Lav Gastro Bar

A local restaurant that is very budget-friendly is Lav Gastro Bar. The food and service are exceptional, and best of all, they are very dog-friendly and allow our dog Pedro to sit both indoors and on the patio. Conveniently located near the entrance of Kotor’s Old Town, right by the Voli Supermarket, it’s the perfect spot for a cocktail, cappuccino, or a great lunch or dinner. With an extensive menu featuring seafood, pasta, burgers, and more, you’re sure to find something delicious at very reasonable prices.
